SusanTestSusan Ahlfield has been a massage therapist for 27 years. She began studying massage after earning her B.A. at UCLA. She moved to Hawaii and apprenticed with Tom Hauer who studied Shiatsu with Yamaguchi, the creator of “Bare Foot Shiatsu.”

Susan lived and studied other massage techniques on the islands and the mainland—Ortho-Bionomy with Zoe Crowley, Cranial-Sacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute and Myofacial release with John Barnes—to name a few. In Hawaii, Susan worked at the Hyatt Regency Kauai, as well as working with several chiropractors and physicians.

Susan moved to Virginia 11 years ago to help with the care of her father-in-law. She is married, has 2 daughters, and enjoys hula dancing.

In Virginia, Susan has worked as a massage therapist for Dr. Mary MacAleese and Dr Stanga. She also worked for Ambiance Day Spa until their recent closing.
